INGREDIENTS
Dough
- 2 (8-ounce) tubes refrigerated crescent roll dough
Filling
- 1 (8-ounce) can almond paste
- 1 (8-ounce) container mascarpone cheese
- 🧂 ½ cup white sugar
- 🥚 1 large egg (separated)
Topping
- 🌰 2 ¼ ounces sliced almonds
- 🧂 1 tablespoon white sugar
Glaze
- 🧂 ½ cup confectioners' sugar
- 💧 2 tablespoons water
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Unroll 1 tube of crescent roll dough and spread it into the bottom of the prepared pan. Seal any seams.
Roll the almond paste to the size of the dough layer in the pan and trim if necessary. Set aside.
In a bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, ½ cup sugar, and the egg yolk until smooth. Spread this mixture over the crescent dough in the pan.
Place the almond paste layer on top of the mascarpone mixture.
Unroll the second tube of crescent dough, cover the almond paste layer, and ensure the seams are sealed.
Beat the egg white and brush it over the top layer of dough. Sprinkle sliced almonds and 1 tablespoon of sugar on top.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 25 to 30 minutes. Let it cool completely.
Mix confectioners' sugar with 2 tablespoons of water to create a glaze, then drizzle over the cooled Danish.
