INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🥔 4 potatoes
- 2-3 tbsp corn starch
- 🥛 2 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce Ingredients
- đź§‚ 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍬 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp mirin
STEPS
Cut the potatoes into chunks and boil them until soft. Alternatively, microwave the chunks with a small amount of water for 5-7 minutes.
Mash the cooked potatoes and mix with corn starch and milk (or vegetable oil). Shape into small cakes.
Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil and pan-fry the potato cakes on both sides until golden brown.
Mix soy sauce, sugar, and mirin in a 1:1:1 ratio and pour over the potato cakes in the pan. Simmer until the sauce thickens.
Serve the potato cakes as is or with a small piece of butter for extra flavor.
