INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🌾 2 1/4 cups flour, plus more for rolling
- 3/4 cup dried cherries
- 🍚 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons orange zest, plus more for garnish
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 🧂 1 teaspoon sea salt
Wet Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Greek-style yogurt
- 1/2 cup orange juice, or more as needed
- 🍚 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 🥛 5 teaspoons whole milk
- 🧂 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk together flour, dried cherries, sugar, baking powder, orange zest, baking soda, and sea salt in a large bowl.
Grate butter into the flour mixture. Toss with fingers until evenly mixed to resemble coarse crumbs.
Whisk together yogurt and orange juice in a small bowl. Fold into the flour mixture to form a dough. Add more orange juice if too dry.
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently, pat to 3/4-inch thickness, and cut into biscuit shapes.
Arrange biscuits on the baking sheet, slightly touching. Bake until golden brown, about 15 to 16 minutes.
Cool biscuits for 5 minutes on the baking sheet.
Combine powdered sugar, milk, and sea salt to make icing. Drizzle over biscuits and garnish with orange zest.
