- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 20 pitted prunes
- Water to cover
Dough
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 🧂 ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ¼ cups white sugar
- 🧈 ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup shortening
- 🥚 3 eggs
- ¼ cup orange juice

STEPS
Combine honey, lemon juice, and prunes in a saucepan. Add water to cover. Boil, then simmer until prunes are softened (10 minutes). Let the filling cool.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Cream sugar, butter, and shortening together using a wooden spoon. Add eggs, orange juice, and vanilla. Gradually fold in flour mixture to form dough. Divide into 3 balls.
Roll out each dough ball to ¼-inch thickness. Cut into circles using a glass rim.
Place ½ teaspoon prune filling in center of each circle, pinch edges to form triangular pockets, and transfer to baking sheets.
