INGREDIENTS
Baking Supplies
- Cooking spray
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 🧂 ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Dairy & Eggs
- 🥚 3 large eggs
- 🧈 ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup milk chocolate candy wafers
Sweeteners
- 1 cup white sugar
Flavorings
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
Add-ins
- 1 ¼ cups bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped raw hazelnuts
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line two large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
Beat eggs in a stand mixer with a whisk attachment for 2 minutes, gradually adding sugar until thickened. Add melted butter, vanilla, and chocolate-hazelnut spread, mixing until combined.
Add the flour mixture and mix on low speed until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and hazelnuts.
Divide dough in half and shape each piece into a log on prepared baking sheets.
Bake logs for 30 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Cool logs for 10 minutes and reduce oven temperature to 300°F (150°C).
Cut logs into ½-inch slices diagonally and place slices cut-side up on baking sheets. Bake slices for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Microwave candy wafers for 30 seconds at a time until melted. Drizzle melted chocolate over biscotti and refrigerate until hardened.
