INGREDIENTS
Bread
- 🍞 1 round bread loaf
Condiments
- 🧈 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
Vegetables
- 🥬 2 cups iceberg lettuce
Deli Meats
- 🍖 1/2 pound deli ham
- 1/2 pound deli turkey
Cheese
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- 🧀 6 slices Cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cut a wide circle out of the bread loaf top like making a soup bread bowl. Remove and set aside the loaf top.
Hollow out the bread interior carefully without breaking through the sides. Reserve the loaf interior for croutons later.
Melt butter with mustard in the microwave for 15 seconds in a small bowl, then mix well.
Brush the butter mixture onto the exterior of the bread loaf and top, place both on a baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then let cool.
Pat lettuce dry and place a layer in the bottom of the hollowed loaf. Layer cheese, ham, and turkey, repeating until the loaf is full. Replace the reserved bread top.
Wrap the stuffed sandwich in plastic wrap and place on a baking sheet. Add another baking sheet on top and weigh it down.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Serve the sandwich whole or cut into triangular sections.
