INGREDIENTS
For Sauce
- 💧 1/3 cup water
- 🥢 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 🍬 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 🍯 1 teaspoon honey
- 🧄 1 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
- 🌱 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
Main Ingredients
- 🍤 1 pound jumbo shrimp
- Skewers
Optional Toppings
- 🌿 2 tablespoons minced fresh cilantro
- 🌰 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
STEPS
Combine water, soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until sauce has reduced and thickened slightly, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Thread shrimp (and pineapple alternately if desired) onto skewers and place on a platter.
Grill the skewers for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until shrimp is opaque and cooked through.
Turn grill to low heat and brush the prepared sauce on both sides of the skewers.
Transfer to a serving platter and sprinkle with minced cilantro and sesame seeds, if desired.
