INGREDIENTS
Pork
- 🐖 600g pork belly
Seasoning
- 🍶 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 🍶 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rock sugar
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 piece star anise
- 3 slices ginger
- 💧 1 cup water
Oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
STEPS
Slice pork belly into chunks. Blanch in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain.
Heat oil in a pot, add rock sugar, and melt until it turns golden brown.
Add pork belly and stir until coated with caramelized sugar.
Place ginger, bay leaves, and star anise into the pot. Stir well.
Pour in soy sauces and water. Bring to a boil.
Lower heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 60–75 minutes until pork is tender.
Uncover and cook until sauce thickens. Serve warm with rice.
