INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 🥩 1 1/2 pounds 80/20 ground beef
Staples
- 1 (6 ounce) box chicken stuffing (such as Stovetop)
- 💧 1/2 cup water
- 🥚 1 large egg
- 🧂 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 cup ketchup, divided
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8x4-inch loaf pan with foil and cooking spray.
Mix ground beef, stuffing mix, water, egg, salt, poultry seasoning, and 1/2 cup ketchup in a large bowl, ensuring even incorporation without overmixing.
Press the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and place it on a baking sheet.
Bake the meatloaf in the oven until the top is browned and sides are bubbly, roughly 35 minutes.
While baking, whisk together brown sugar and the remaining 1/2 cup ketchup in a small bowl.
Spread the ketchup mixture evenly over the baked meatloaf and return it to the oven. Bake until an instant-read thermometer reaches 160°F, another 10-15 minutes.
Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before transferring out of the pan using the foil overhang, and slice into 8 pieces.
