INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🌾 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 🍬 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 🧂 2 teaspoons salt
Wet Ingredients
- 💧 1 ½ cups water
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 💧 1 tablespoon water

- 🥚 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
STEPS
Mix the flour, 1 ½ cups water, and sourdough starter in a bowl to form a batter. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place until bubbly and filled with large holes, for 4 hours to overnight.
Stir in the oil, eggs, sugar, and salt. Mix well to combine.
In a small bowl, whisk together 1 tablespoon of water and the baking soda until dissolved. Gently fold this into the batter with a rubber spatula.
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the waffle iron and bake until crisp and golden, following the manufacturer's timing (approximately 3 minutes per waffle). Repeat with the remaining batter.
