INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🥚 8 eggs
- 🥛 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 🍬 1 ½ cups white sugar
STEPS
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Have a 9-inch round cake pan ready.
In a blender, food processor, or using an electric mixer, combine eggs, condensed milk, and vanilla. Blend until smooth.
In a medium saucepan, cook sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it liquefies and turns light brown. Remove from heat and pour into the prepared cake pan.
Pour the egg mixture over the liquid sugar in the cake pan.
Line a roasting pan with a damp kitchen towel. Place the cake pan inside the roasting pan, and set it on the oven rack.
Fill the roasting pan with water to reach halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
Bake for 70 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove the cake pan from the water bath and let it cool completely, about 1 hour.
Run a knife along the edge of the pan, place a serving plate on top, and invert the pan to release the flan. Serve.

💡 For a denser, cheesecake-like texture, substitute 8 ounces of cream cheese for 2 eggs.Use a non-stick cake pan for easier flan removal.Serve the flan chilled for the best taste and texture. If the sugar hardens before pouring, reheat gently until it liquefies again.
