INGREDIENTS
Seasoning
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons Italian herb seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Protein
- 🍗 1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken breast
Cooking Base
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Vegetables
- 1/2 cup shallots
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 pound asparagus
Dairy
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup pecorino Romano cheese
STEPS
In a resealable plastic bag, combine flour, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Shake well to mix.
Pound chicken breasts to uniform thickness. Blot dry with paper towels.
Add chicken to the flour mixture and coat lightly.
Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and brown on both sides, cooking 4–5 minutes per side. Set aside.
Add remaining butter, shallots, and asparagus to the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes until asparagus is tender. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in cream, lemon juice, and pecorino Romano cheese. Heat until cheese melts and sauce thickens. Return chicken to skillet and simmer for 3 minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
