INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🧂 2 cups white sugar
- 🌰 ½ cup chopped walnuts
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup light corn syrup
- 🧈 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate
- 🍫 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
STEPS
Butter an 8 inch square baking dish, and set aside.
In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil; cover and cook for one minute. Stir until well blended.
Remove the lid, and without stirring, heat to 234–240°F. Check temperature using a candy thermometer or drop a small amount into cold water for soft ball stage test.
Remove from heat and add chocolate and vanilla without stirring. Set saucepan over wire rack until cooled to 175°F for about 15 minutes.
Beat fudge with a wooden spoon until thickened and glossy. Stir in walnuts.
Pour fudge into buttered dish, spread evenly, and set aside to cool completely. Cut into small squares to serve.
