INGREDIENTS
Vodka and fruits
- 🍍 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh pineapple
- 1 (750-ml) bottle vodka
- 🌿 1/2 cup basil leaves, plus more for garnish
DIY sour mix
- 🧂 1 cup sugar
- 💧 1 cup water
- 🍋 1 cup lime juice (about 8 limes)
- 🍋 1 cup lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
STEPS
Prepare pineapple-basil vodka by placing chopped pineapple in a 1-quart jar. Top with vodka, cover, and let steep for 1 to 3 days for infusion. Add basil leaves and let steep for an additional 1 to 2 hours; then strain.
Make the DIY sour mix by combining sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil on high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove it from heat and cool before adding lime and lemon juices. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Mix the infused pineapple-basil vodka with the prepared DIY sour mix in a pitcher. Serve over ice in rocks glasses. Optionally top with club soda and garnish with pineapple wedges, basil leaves, or fronds.
