INGREDIENTS
Marinade
- 1/2 cup light beer
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast halves
Cheese Sauce
- 🧈 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup light beer
- 🧀 2 cups cheddar cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
Additional
- 4 hamburger buns
STEPS
Create a marinade by combining beer, smoked paprika, chili powder, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder in a resealable plastic bag. Add chicken and coat thoroughly. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Preheat outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Grill chicken breasts until fully cooked, flipping occasionally. Each side takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Prepare cheese sauce in a saucepan. Melt butter over medium heat, add and whisk flour until smooth paste forms. Slowly add half and half and beer, stirring until thickened (3-5 minutes). Mix in cheddar cheese until melted, then season with paprika, garlic powder, and ground mustard.
Toast hamburger buns on the grill until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
Serve grilled chicken on buns, top with the beer cheese sauce and any other desired burger toppings.
