INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup canola oil
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 🥚 3 beaten eggs
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 🧂 1 ½ teaspoons salt
Filling
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons paprika
Topping
- 🥚 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
STEPS
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the flour with baking powder in a bowl; set aside.
Mix the canola oil, melted butter, yogurt, eggs, sour cream, sugar, and salt until smooth. Gradually stir in the flour mixture to form a soft dough. Knead until no longer sticky, about 5 minutes.
For the filling, combine feta cheese, parsley, olive oil, and paprika in a bowl.
Pinch off 2 ½ tablespoons of dough and roll into a 1 ¾-inch ball. Flatten to 3 inches on your palm. Place 1 scant tablespoon of filling in the center, bring the edges together, and pinch into a dumpling shape. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
Beat egg yolks and brush over the dumplings. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Bake until the tops are shiny, brown, and crackled, about 20 to 30 minutes.
