INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 🐄 1/2 pound ground beef
- 🐖 1/2 pound ground pork
Binders and Fillers
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 🥚 1 large egg
- 🥛 1/4 cup milk
Vegetables and Seasonings
- 🧅 1/4 cup white onion
- 🧂 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 🧄 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Glaze
- 1/2 cup apple butter
- 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine ground beef, ground pork, panko, onion, milk, egg, salt, granulated garlic, and pepper in a bowl. If the mixture is soft, refrigerate for 15–20 minutes, then roll into 24 meatballs (1 1/2 inches each) and place on the baking sheet.
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown (165°F internal temp).
Whisk apple butter, bourbon, soy sauce, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard in a saucepan. Simmer over medium-low heat until smooth and thickened (5–7 minutes).
Toss baked meatballs with glaze and serve warm.
