- 1 (15.5 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
Vegetables
- 🧅 ½ cup chopped onion
- 🧄 1 clove garlic, minced
Liquids
- ¼ cup red wine
Spices
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (Optional)

Increase heat to medium-high; bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Discard bay leaves before serving.
